Following in the tradition of the 1863 Salon des Refusés — an exhibition of work rejected from the Paris Salon — you're invited, as one of the many artists that weren't invited to participate in the 2019 Dennos Museum NW Michigan Regional Juried Exhibition, to participate in this pop-up show.

 

This region has a rich artistic culture up of artists making exciting work. There's much wonderful work that won't make it to Dennos this year – here's an opportunity to show and see some of it. Plus it will be great to get together for a fabulous party in the middle of the winter surrounded by art. It's what we all do best.

Leelanau Studios, 10781 E Cherry Bend Rd, Traverse City, MI 49684 

 

SPECIFICS: 

Delivery of work: Drop off your work between 9am-noon on Friday. Bring one of the two pieces you submitted to Dennos. Be sure the work is wired and ready to hang/display, no sawtooth hangers. All appropriate care will be taken with your artwork, but you assume all liability for insuring your work during the show. If you have an easel, pedestal, etc. that you can bring, that would be helpful, remember to label them.

Pick up your work after the reception, or Saturday between 9 am-noon.

For artists that want to participate but can't get their artwork to Leelanau Studios, email us a jpg image. There will be a slide show running during the opening.

A suggested donation of $20/artist will help with associated costs.

SALES:

All sales are the responsibility of the artist, Salon des Refusés will not take a commission. 

 

PROMOTION: 

A Facebook event will promote the show, and you will be able to share. An Instagram graphic and pdf of a poster will also be emailed to you for help with getting the word out.
